I can't believe you are 16! Your dad and I are not old enough to have 16-year old's! That makes us feel really old. If you will notice from these pictures, you have aged us a bit! Having twins as our first children was hard and I hate the fact that the first 6 months to a year of your life is really blurry in my mind due to sleep deprivation. We learned early on that although you were twins you were very much your own separate people. Dr. David would remind me of this all the time when your size would be different or one of you would be doing a skill the other one wasn't yet. The fact that you were 2 very different people only became clearer as we tried to parent you. We could tell Caleb we were disappointed in something, and he would be sad for days. We could do the same thing to Bryce, and he would laugh at us.
It has been fun to see you grow up and become your own people.
Caleb you now tower over me. You are 6ft 2 and about a 170lbs. You love golf and spend a lot of time at the golf course between playing and working. You like to switch up your hobbies frequently and when you are all in you are ALL in and when you are out you are OUT. You love to buy all the gear for whatever hobby you happen to be interested in at the time. It is currently golf, and you have all the cool clubs. You are very money focused, and you like to work more hours to make more cash. You are also quick to be an entrepreneur by picking up, cleaning and reselling golf balls and clubs. You are a little short on patience with changes in plans, your parents suggesting that you do chores, your sisters and your dogs and most of all your brother. You are loving the freedom of driving but obsess over how bad of gas mileage your truck gets even though ironically, we pay for all your gas. When I ask you what you want to do someday you tell me something that will make you a lot of money. When you have had to explore careers for school you have looked at Fishery Management, Landscaping, Business etc. I think you would be happiest doing a job that you could work outdoors and where you are just responsible for yourself. You say that you never want a wife because they don't let you do all the things you want to do when you want to do them. Truth! Also, you say that you don't want any kids to cramp you bachelor lifestyle, so we will see if those views change in the future. Although, you have no patience with your siblings you really enjoy Megan's kids, and you are really good with babies.
Bryce you are now a little over 5ft 9 and weigh about 140lbs. You have had one focus and it is basketball for years now. You live and breathe basketball. You never get tired of practice, shoot around and weights. On your off days you go to the YMCA for hours and either shoot hoops or join a pick-up game. You keep pretty busy with sports and have convinced yourself that a job might cramp your style. You are careful with money because you don't have a lot of it to blow. You are never the kid that can eat a quick meal of mac n cheese or chicken strips. You routinely makes a full meal for yourself. It is never an easy meal and it always requires at least 3 pans. You are good at making the plans and executing them. This annoys Caleb because he always wants plans but isn't very good at making them. You can be super sweet, and I find it very endearing that no matter who you are with you always say, "Love you" to me when you hang up the phone. You love your dogs as much as I do, and you almost always come in our room at night to tell us goodnight and the dogs goodnight. You have liked the freedom of driving, but I think you more feel like it is a necessity more than a privilege. You would rather not drive you just do so you can get where you need to be. When I ask you what you want to do someday you are pretty undecided. You have tossed around the idea of Physical Therapy and Athletic trainer. You have also thought about business or banking. From seeing how you like to operate you might want to strive for management because you like to delegate your tasks to people. Just teasing you! You say that you want a family and 3-4 kids someday and of course a dog or two.
You guys are as different as night and day and somedays you drive me absolutely crazy, but I am so lucky to be your mom! You are great kids (outside of our house) and sometimes in our house. I am proud of who you are growing up to be and I hope that you continue to make good choices and be great guys!
