Preschool Family Picnic

Bryce, Caleb and Abby with Stella (Caleb's girlfriend).

The boys with their teacher Lori.

The boys with their teacher Sueann.

The Pre K class.

Bryce and Caleb with their friend Andrew.

Bryce and Caleb had their preschool family picnic on Friday. It is hard to believe that they are done with preschool for the year already. The weather made it even more unbelievable that it was almost summer. We froze at the picnic. We dressed in hats and coats but still ended up leaving right after we ate lunch. The boys had fun playing with their friends and eating lunch with their teachers.
They had a great year of preschool and learned a lot this year. I was pretty proud when I looked at the alphabet journals that they brought home and you could see week by week how they got better at writing letters and writing their names. They will both be attending Pioneer Park Nature Center Preschool again next year. A small piece of me wishes that they were moving up to kindergarten with their friends but a bigger part of me knows that we are making the right decision for them by doing one more year of preschool. Not to mention I am glad I get to keep them my little boys for just a little bit longer.

Mother's Day

I had a wonderful Mother's Day on Sunday. When Robb asked me if I wanted to just have a day to myself or to spend it with the family, my answer of course was to spend it with him and the kids. The kids are why I get to celebrate Mother's Day today after all.
I'm going to get a little sentimental on you now but here it goes... I have always known that I wanted to be a mom. As a little girl I knew that I would be a mommy. So it was a very long, hard and emotional journey when we had trouble getting pregnant. I didn't understand why God didn't want us to be parents. Little did I know the plans he had for us. It may not have been an easy journey but one that was worth taking and look where we are now. We have 3 beautiful children that I get to hear call me mom at least 100+ times a day. Being a mom is defiantly the hardest job I have ever had but also the most rewarding.
The kids all had cards for me that they had made and they also made me a plaque for my flower garden with dads help. The cutest thing was that Robb must have drilled into their head that we would do whatever I wanted to do since it was Mothers Day. So, all day long Bryce kept saying "What do you want to do mom?". I got to sleep in and Robb cleaned all 3 bathrooms which was very exciting to me. We went out to lunch and got ice cream afterward. It was a wonderful day and I am thankful that I have 3 beautiful children and a wonderful husband to spend it with.

Easter

We headed back to Norfolk on Saturday afternoon to spend Easter with our families. We went to Easter dinner Saturday night at my mom's house. The food was delicious and the kids all had fun playing together. Draven tried to teach Bryce and Caleb how to play Wii and I think he finally decided they weren't going to catch on. Everyone had fun doing the Easter egg hunt. Abby made us all laugh when she picked up my mom's lawn ornament rabbit and tried to put it in her bag. We also got to spend some time with my brother Mitch and his girlfriend Courtney before they both leave for internships for the summer.

The kids all dressed up and ready for church on Easter Sunday. Bryce and Caleb were excellent in church and even listened to the pastor a little bit. Abby was a menace in church and refused to let anyone look at her or touch her except for me and grandpa. Needless to say my arms were a little tired from holding her by the time that church was over.

Grandma Susie made Abby and Brook their beautiful Easter dresses. Abby said she looked like a princess.

We managed to get all the kids on the couch for a quick picture before we started the Easter egg hunt. You can tell how thrilled they all are about the picture. They had a great time finding eggs though. Uncle Andy and his cousins hid a ridiculous number of eggs for them to find.

We had our last Easter celebration at my sister's house on Sunday night. My dad and Cindy were there and got to see the kids for a while. We played outside doing scooter, chalk and bubbles. I have no idea how they still had SOOOO much energy. I guess it could be the 10 lbs of chocolate that they probably ate that day. It was a great weekend and we are thankful that we got to spend it with our friends and family.

Super Hero Day

Last Saturday was Super Hero Day at the Children's Museum. We went last year and the boys LOVED it! We didn't tell them until that morning and they were so excited. Bryce decided to dress up like Captain America and Caleb decided he didn't want to wear a costume. Everyone except Abby had a great time. She was so scared and nervous seeing everyone in costume. Either Robb or I had to carry her the entire time.
The boys each had this comic book artist draw them a picture. They thought it was the coolest thing.

Lil Red started copying everything that Caleb did. He was jumping all over and falling on the floor and Lil Red would do the same. At one point Lil Red sucked is head into his costume and Caleb was a little disappointed he couldn't do that too.

Bryce and Caleb standing by one of the many Iron Mans.

This was the only thing Abby enjoyed. They had a craft area where you could make your own masks.

The other Iron Man.

Egg Decorating

We decorated eggs the Friday before Easter. The kids were so excited to color eggs all day but I told them that we had to wait until Dad got home because I needed more adult help. It turned out that Caleb managed to glitter the entire kitchen and Abby bit into her egg, shell and all right after she pulled it out of the dye. Bryce was the only one that didn't manage to do something too disastrous. They had a great time and we headed to the tub right afterward.
