Halloween

This year was the first year that the boys weren't sure if they were going to go trick or treating or not so we hadn't bought them any costumes. Caleb had wore his football stuff to the Boo at the Zoo trick or treating but he didn't really have a back up plan when their friends asked them to go trick or treating. Thank goodness for a tote full of Halloween costumes from past years that they used to piece together something.
Emmy was a good witch.
Abby was a Greek Goddess

Bryce was a swamp thing and Caleb was at wrestling camp until he left for trick or treating so I didn't get a picture of him. He decided to be a werewolf that night though.

I must admit I was a little bummed that trick or treating was no longer a family event. Robb went with the boys and at a distance followed the tweens around while they ran house to house getting as much candy as possible. The girls and I trick or treated with Addison, Alexa and Andrea. I was fun to see the big girls help the little girls figure the trick or treating thing out. Emmy was a champ and even though it was cold she was wanting to go to more and more houses. Abby on the other hand was freezing and ready to go home before anyone else.

They had quite the haul of candy when they were done!

Football Banquet

The boys had their final football banquet. It was very well done with a motivational speaker and lots of nice words from all the coaches that worked with these boys. We returned all their gear and they got a surprise by finding out that they got to keep the blue jersey this year because they planned on buying new white jerseys for next year.
Their coach handed out metals for winning the championship.

The coaches then gave a big speech on how hard it was to pick who to give the individual awards to. When they gave out the 6 JV awards both Bryce and Caleb won an award. That was very cool! Bryce got MVP of the year for being willing to play so many different positions and excelling at everything that they asked him to do. Caleb won Lineman of the Year Award for showing that no one gets past him!

I love this picture of Caleb. You can see him staring at his trophy and smiling ear to ear.

Bryce got a team helmet for winning MVP.

Caleb and Bryce with their head coach, Dave.

We are very proud of all their accomplishments this year.

Boo At the Zoo

This year I had only bought tickets for the girls and I to go to Boo At the Zoo. When it came to that day Caleb was sad that he wasn't going so I got him a ticket too. Then I felt bad like I was rushing him to grow up. Bryce however had no interest in going at all. We went during a Husker football game so he wanted to stay home and watch that instead. Caleb who was dressed as a Husker player got lots of comments such as "shouldn't you be on the field playing". He thought it was funny the first 10 times and then he was tired of it. I had to make him get a picture with the cheerleaders though!
Emmy loved everything about Boo at the Zoo! Their were plenty of princess costumes to see and lots of candy and prizes to trick or treat for.

Of course she wanted a picture with the guy dressed like the poop emoji!

Abby had fun too! Except she was freezing the entire time.

We had parked ridiculously far away and when we left we had planned on taking the shuttle bus. We waited by the bus stop for a while and then decided that if we just started walking we would get there just as fast. Caleb and I were walking but the girls saw the bus coming so they started running back to the bus stop. They were on the sidewalk but as the bus was pulling up to the curb he felt like it was appropriate to pull on in going about 30 mph. I could see he was coming in really fast and I couldn't get to her in time so I yelled for Abby to grab Emmy and right as Abby pulled Emmy back towards her the bus pulled up right in front of them almost hitting Emmy. I have never been that shook up in my life! Inches and everything would have been different from that second on. I was so thankful that Abby's quick thinking saved Emmy's life! It's not everyday that you can say you saved a life but today was one of them! Abby you did something that day that saved your sisters life! I will forever be grateful for that!

Halloween at Dance class

Dance class always has a costume day. Emmy was super excited to dress up! I was a little worried how it was going to go dancing in her witch costume but she did great and kept everything on the entire time.

Abby's class also had a Halloween Dance Party. It was fun to see all the creative costumes!

These 2 are too cute!

Pumpkin Carving

We have been really lucky this fall and we have had some really nice weather. The nice weather made this Sunday perfect for carving pumpkins. This year all the kids except Emmy were old enough to gut their own pumpkin. Yipee! Robb had taken the kids the weekend before to Grammy Hansen's to get the pumpkins. It was rainy and cold that day but they still managed to bring home more pumpkins and gourds than we knew what to do with.
Caleb decided that we was going to take carving to a new level and use a hand saw. As long as he keeps all of his fingers and limbs, Go for it!

Emmy was super proud of her pumpkin design she picked out to make me carve .It was a big pumpkin eating a little pumpkin. It was pretty funny!

Abby concentrating hard on her carving.

Bryceman had a headache and wasn't feeling that in to it so he used the drill to make a ton of holes all over his and called it good. It looked pretty neat when it was lit.

Emmy saw Bryce having fun with the drill so she had to try it too.

Our jack o lanterns all lit up.

Football Championship

This was the game that you had been waiting for all season! Your varsity team had made it into the  championship game and you got the chance to play a team that had just barely beat you last time. Since you had both worked so hard and had proved yourselves to your coaches you both got playtime in the varsity game. This game was super close and you ended up winning it in overtime. It was a very exciting game and to make it even more of a nail biter, Norris hadn't won a championship in 15 years so a lot was riding on this game. We are proud of how you handled this football season and all the hard work that you had put in. We really can't say enough great things about how great the coaches were in this program! They really turned two boys that had decided they didn't want to play football into two boys that were really sad to see the season end!

The coaches were as excited as the team! They were hugging and chest bumping people as they came off of the field.

Your coaches always demanded respect for the other team, the other coaches and the refs. After every game before you shook hands you could hear him telling you to "keep it classy". Such a good lesson. These were coaches that we could encourage you to look up to and try your hardest for!

Norris Jr Titans 2017 Champions!

Good job Bryce and Caleb!

To celebrate we took you to Lazlo's to eat. We even let you get desert. After all, sprinkles are for winners!

Girls Scouts at Roca Scary Farm

Abby's girls scout troop also visited the pumpkin patch. They went on a Friday after school and played for a couple hours before it started to transform into the Scary farm part. It was interesting to see all the workers start to come out in costumes and makeup for the haunted house portion of the night. Abby is not into anything scary and neither were any of the other scouts so we headed to our house for naco bar and smores. The only downfall was that it was such a windy night that it turned into the parents making the smores while the girls ate them inside where it was warmer out.

Daycare Day at Roca Scary Farm

Every year daycare takes a trip to Roca Pumpkin Patch. Emmy is always so excited to do this! I usually end up having to work the day before so she gets to ride there with Andrea which is about as exciting as the pumpkin patch it self.

4
She had a lot of fun with her friends going on the slides, playing on the playground and the jumping pillows. It is always cute to see how they interact with their peers.

They were helping baby Tailey jump on the jumping pillows.

We loved this little train. There wasn't a line so we rode it over and over again. I love how she is pretending to drive.

Bryce, Caleb and Abby were out of school that day for fall break so they came too. I didn't see the boys the entire time. The ran off with Andrea's older son and were trying to scare people going through the haunted houses. Abby stuck with Emmy and I realized that she is the best big sister/ babysitter ever! At one point one of the moms thought that she had lost her 3 year old. Her daughter that was Abby's age was with her and then ran off to do something else. Abby is very responsible with Emmy. She makes sure she sticks with her.
