Emmy's Spring Concert

Emmy had her first Spring concert. We were more excited than her, but she seemed to warm up to the idea once she saw her friends. It is weird to think about, but Emmy has never had a "normal" year of school. She was in kindergarten during the pandemic and has either had to wear masks, social distance or have things like concerts cancelled. This class doesn't know any different, but I am glad that things are starting to be more "normal" for them.

Emmy really enjoys her teacher this year. Mrs. Hunt is super young, but she also sounds like she is a lot of fun. 

Grandma is always up for watching her grandkids sing!

 

Big Ten Tournament

Bryce got to go to the Big Ten Tournament again this year. This has become his all-time favorite Christmas gift. This year it was in Indianapolis, so he got a redo of the 2020 trip where they got to watch one game and then everything was cancelled due to the outbreak of Covid19. Last year they didn't have spectators, so Bryce was really excited to get to go this year.

Bob, Susie and Bryce stayed at an Air B&B in a historical apartment building.

They got to watch the Huskers play once but they lost in the first round.

Painting Party

Since Emmy is a party planner now, she had planned not only a birthday sleepover but also a birthday painting party. With the painting party she was able to include more girls. Ginger cut out metal figures of cactus, plants, flowers etc. The theme of this party was dogs per her request, so she had an adorable white Husky cake. 

This was a very lively bunch! I had no idea how loud our house could actually get.

Girl Scout Cookie Booth

Emmy was in Girl Scouts this year, so we had plenty of Girl Scout Cookies at our disposal to eat. Emmy didn't love the selling part of this. She was nervous to go door to door and much preferred selling at a booth or having me take bags and bags of cookies to work to sell. Lucky for her everyone at my job really loved Girl Scout cookies and she didn't have any competition, so she had the break room market at NSC cornered. I would just restock a big bag every day and set it in the breakroom with the Venmo code to pay with. Most people weren't able to resist and would buy them to finish off their lunch. She wasn't a top seller, but NE Surgery Center might have been a top buyer with over 400 boxes bought and consumed. 

 

CBD Dog Treats

I bought the dogs calming CBD dog treats. They maybe worked a little too well. Pretty sure we made both dogs a little high. They just held onto this silly bone and stared into space and then Scout passed out. Not sure if we should drug the dogs just to calm them down!
