Chief

Caleb had gotten some money for Christmas and when we asked him what he planned to buy, he sprung on us that he was going to get a hamster. After some discussion that anything alive needed pre approval from the parents he was pretty disappointed that he may not be getting a hamster. That week he did his research and wrote a very convincing proposal of why he should get a hamster, what supplies he would need and even researched everything about hamsters to make his case stronger. When he presented all of his research to us we really couldn't say No. So we went on a hamster search. The first pet store only had boys and he had read that girls were more friendly which was great because the boy parts on those hamsters looked a little freaky! The next pet store only had dwarf hamsters which really just looked like a mouse without a tail. The pet store associate got the first one out for him to hold but it tried to commit suicide by jumping from 5 ft up and then running under the shelving unit. Luckily, Caleb decided that he wanted to explore his other options. After helping locate and catch the escaped hamster we held a couple other ones. One seemed very friendly and Caleb decided that she was his pet. It was really cute to see how worried he was about her getting cold outside on the way home. He got the cage all set up and we had a new pet in the house. Since the Chiefs were playing a good game that day Chief became the hamsters name. Welcome to the family Chief!

Happy New Year

We are the completely not cool parents and we made our kids celebrate New Years Eve on New Years Day instead. I agree with them that it didn't have quite the same feel but Robb and I were feeling a little under the weather and we just weren't feeling up to staying up until midnight nor were we feeling like putting up with kids the next day that had stayed up way past bedtime!
So it was on the wrong night but we did still celebrate! Lutz style with a dance party and the Pie in the Face game.
We were wild and crazy and everyone had a great time!

This Pie in the Face game gave us all a lot of laughs! It is like Russian Roulette but with whipped cream. Abby kept trying to get creamed so that she could eat it. Emmy was disgusted by the entire thing and wanted nothing to do with getting cream on her face.

We are fun but not that fun. We wrapped up the festivities by 10:30 and still got to bed before it was too late.
Happy New Year from our crazy family!
