School Orientation Night

It's crazy to think that we have 2 middle schoolers! I am not old enough to have kids this old. That is what I tell myself. This year they are in the middle school building and will move classrooms for each class. They also have to have lockers with locks. I had bought a lock to practice on but Caleb was still pretty nervous about being able to get his locker open. Another change this year is that the boys only have 1 class together.

Bryce looks super excited about the entire process of finding each class and introducing himself.

Abby is in the intermediate school again this year. She will have Mr. Boesiger as her teacher. She is super excited about that because the boys have really talked him up. I was a little sad because I wanted her to have Mrs. Axtell like the boys did but she is excited so that is all that matters.

Columbus Waterpark

Ever summer the kids put the Columbus Waterpark on their wish list of stuff to do. This year we just about didn't make it happen. We cut it close and went the weekend before school started. It was a little busy but we still had fun. It was a beautiful day. The boys did all the slides especially the toilet slide over and over again. The girls enjoyed doing the rope with the floating toys underneath it. It is hard to believe that summer is coming to a close. I am not looking forward to the structure that comes with school starting but I guess all fun thing must come to an end.

Project weekend

It's a good thing that Robb is handy because we could never live on this acreage without him doing so many of the projects. The landscaping rocks that he put in not long after we moved in were meant to have stairs going down the center. It took us a while to figure out what we wanted there but once he figured it out it only took the weekend. I love love love the final result. Thanks again Robb!

Girl Scout Bridging

Abby was still in the same Girl Scout troop this year. Stacy had taken over as a leader after Andrea and I gave it up. She tried to do her best but she had less crafts and fun things and more projects that had meanings that were hard to grasp for this group. Abby still enjoyed it but she made the decision to not be in this troop again next year. Andrea and I have tossed around the idea of just having the girls do it as independents next year or we had thought about getting them involved in 4-H instead. I'm not sure what they will do next year but it was fun to celebrate their accomplishments as a Brownie troop the last 2 years.

Art Camp

Abby and Addison did an art camp at the Makit Takit studio this summer. They are both crafty and love making things so this was the perfect camp. This was the magical creatures camp to the projects were focused around fairys, unicorns and magic. They also got to paint in the splatter room which was one of Abby's favorite days.

Daycare Lunch

Each summer Andrea lets the kids host a daycare lunch for the parents. It is always super cute and Emmy looks forward to it for weeks before hand. The kids help cook the meal and decorate the table. They also serve the food. This year we had pizza, carrots and fruit salad. Emmy made my placemat and did a great job serving the food. It is always a fun lunch.
