Emmy's Day Out

Since all the other kids have got to have a fun day/weekend or trip out, it was Emmy's turn. We have been having some sass problems at daycare so she had to earn her day at the zoo and She did it! We had to do the train first because we missed it so much! She likes the train better than any of the other kids have.

She also decided she wanted to ride one of the ponies. I bought her the ticket knowing they are refundable if she decided not to ride. This happened a couple times last year. But she didn't even think twice about it. She looked like she loved it!

We had a blast at the zoo. I just followed her around so we did the train, horses, goats, jungle gyms, bug area and of course the trash lion.

I swear these goats get crazier every year. I think it is time to trade them in for the kind that don't eat small children! Emmy loved it and kept going back for more. She really likes to feed the "baby ones" which are just short ones but you have to get past the big ones first.

Girls Weekend

Abby and her best friend Addison have been asking for a girls weekend for a while now and Andrea and I thought we deserved a girls weekend after surviving cookie season. Both girls had asked for part of their birthday gift to be going to the American Girl store in Kansas City. We left on a Saturday after dance and came home late on Sunday. It was a quick trip but fun. We of course did the American Girl store where they both got their dolls hair done and bought a new outfit or 2 for the dolls. We then hit up some stores to get some summer clothes. It was pretty cute, they bought a bunch of "twinsie outfits". Oh to be 8 again!
Here is them with their American Girl dolls.

As an adult I do not see the draw of hotels but as a kid I remember loving them. The girls did some swimming and Andrea and I did some chatting.

We went back to the mall the next morning and we told the girls it was our turn to shop. We hit up a few "mom stores" but for the most part they girls did some more shopping for matching clothing. I think we will have to bring the bags in a few at a time or the dads are never going to let us have girls weekend again.

Basketball

Robb coached Bryce and Caleb's basketball team again this year. They had a great year and were really fun to watch. Most of these kids have been playing together for 2-3 years now so it is fun to see them just get better and better. Bryce has turned into quite the ball handler and Caleb is a great defender!
I love watching Robb coach and whether he will admit it or not he gets a lot of compliments on his coaching. He expects that all the boys try their hardest, have fun and be respectful of the refs and other team. I feel like as they get older and move on to play other sports these may not be the values at the fore front anymore and I just hope that they remembered what their dad taught them.

This was after their tournament. I'm not sure but judging by the picture they had a blast! During their tournament weekend Abby and I were gone so I didn't get to watch the last 2 games but Robb said they played really hard. They won one and lost one and ended up 2nd overall. Good job team!
This will be the last year that the Rockets are together. We will miss playing with all these kids.
