Trick or Treat

Monday night was a beautiful night for trick or treating! The kids were ready go from the time they got up that morning. So it was hard to wait ALL DAY. It was a treat, Megan their godmother came over to trick or treat with us. We all trick or treated our street and then I came home to hand out candy and Robb and Megan continued trick or treating with the kids.
It sounds like they were trick or treating experts by the time the night was over. Fin McMissle had a couple wrecks but otherwise they had a great time. They each ended up with a full bag of candy. We had a ton of trick or treaters at our house too. We ended up passing out almost of the 2 huge bags of candy we had bought.

Abby was Cinderella this year. She loves dressing up as a princess most days.

Bryce was a Police officer. He even had hand cuffs!

Caleb was Fin McMissle from the CARS movie.

Trick or Treating

Boo At The Zoo

On Friday night we went to Boo at the Zoo. I must say this is one of my least favorite Halloween traditions but if you know me at all you know I have trouble saying no. Our neighbor girls birthday falls on Halloween so she invites the kids to do Boo at the Zoo with her every year, so we end up going. Last year her parents took her and the boys and that was fine with me, but this year Abby was old enough to go so I ended up going too. Luckily we had a nice night to go. We left the house at 4:30 and stood in line until 5:30 when it started. Thank goodness I had pre bought the treat bags or who knows how long we would have stood in line. The kids were good in line and enjoyed the magicians and clowns entertaining everyone to make the time pass faster.
Once we got into the zoo area I felt like I was herding the kids along the path trying to keep track of everyone. I did tell Robb that next year (lucky for him) he would have to attend also because it was not a one parent thing. Bryce was a pro at getting candy. He made sure he got something from every person in there. Abby was pretty good at getting candy, she just had to flash them her cute, shy smile and they loaded up her bag. Caleb was a candy collecting disaster this year! He went as Fin McMissle from the CARS movie. Robb and him had spent hours making him this really cute car costume out of a box. However, it was not very wearer friendly. He complained costantly about the straps and he had trouble holding his candy bag. Needless to say the car had a few wrecks and was a little dinged up after that night of trick or treating. Even though it wasn't an activity that I enjoyed the kids had fun. I think even they were a bit disappointed at the fact that even though it is trick or treating at the zoo you really don't get to see any animals.

Bryce and Caleb waiting in line.

Abby standing by a Princess. After seeing this she asked if I would dress up like a Princess too next year. I told her we could talk about it next year.

Bryce was so excited to see real cops and a real cop car there. He even got a picture with McGruff.

I finally talked them all into standing still for a second while I snapped a picture.

School Cosutme Party

Bryce and Caleb had their school Halloween party on Friday. The kids were so excited to dress up for school and take the treats that we made.

Everyone in the class looked so cute in their costume!
