This year Bryce and Caleb are turning 7. That just doesn't seem possible! I can still remember holding them in the hospital after they were born. They have grown up to be great kids.
Bryce is a creative, artistic and independent. He loves to build Lego's and can look at a picture of something and build it or draw it. He loves to ride his bike and play basketball outside. This year he has become very interested in Star Wars and still likes some of the super heroes too. He did great in Kindergarten and was a helper to Caleb since he got nervous sometimes. He has started to read simple books and is really good at math. Although he likes to play independently sometimes he can be a great friend and brother to Abby and Caleb and although he is growing up so fast he still likes his tuck in and kiss before bed.
Caleb is a go getter. He is full of energy and I wish I could borrow some from him most days. He is still our early bird and gets up as early as he is allowed to. He loves riding his bike and trying new tricks on his bike such as riding over a ramp and jumping. He loves to go boating and is in water every opportunity that he gets. 99% of the summer he doesn't wear a shirt and complains when we go somewhere "fancy" where shirts are required. He is very social and doesn't play by himself very often. He likes playing with Bryce and Abby and usually tries to get them to play something that has to do with water. He still has a little bit of social anxiety when he has to be away from us in a situation that is unfamiliar but it is getting better. Although he isn't very interested in reading his is doing a good job sounding out words and is working on reading simple books. He is a cuddle bug and will occasionally just crawl up on your lap or snuggle up next to you to chat. I will miss this when he stops doing this.
Bryce and Caleb are so different and yet I love that they have such different personalities. It keeps things interesting. Happy Birthday Boys! You gave Robb and I the gift that we had prayed for for many years. The opportunity to be parents.
Bryce and Caleb got new bikes for their birthday. They were so excited that they tried them out first thing in the morning when they got up.
They got 18 inch bikes and I think they are the perfect size. They still had control over them but I think they will grow with them the next year or so. They only have hand brakes and that was something that was really hard to get used to.
Later that night the boys got to open their gifts that Abby had got them. Bryce REALLY LOVED the ninja turtle Lego set Abby got him. She got a big hug and a kiss.
Caleb was also really excited about his new CARS car.
