Emerson's Baptism (May 11)

We had our sweet baby girl baptized on May 11. This time around we did things a little different in the fact that we decided to hold the baptism at our home church here in Lincoln. With the other 3 kids we weren't members of Southwood church yet so we had opted to have them baptized back in Norfolk at Robb's home church. Now that we have joined Southwood, and Robb and I have tried to become more involved in the church, we felt like it was important to have her baptized here. Southwood is a very large church so we didn't have a lot of options as far a what day we could hold the baptism on, so we decided having it on Mother's Day would be pretty special anyway. I love baptism day of our kids! It is so special to have them formally become part of the church and recognize the people in their life that will help them to take the right path and make the right decision to keep God a part of their life. We choose Steph and Andy to be Emerson's sponsors. They are both people that we know love our children dearly and will help Emerson to grow up knowing that God is an important part of her life. Thank you Andy and Steph for taking on this special role in her life!

Emerson didn't even cry when Pastor Greg put the water and oil on her head. The other little girl getting baptized seemed a bit traumatized with the whole experience though.

Susie made Emerson her beautiful baptismal gown. She even embroidered her name and the baptism day on the back. I love that she has a special gown that grandma made for her.

We are so thankful to be able to share this joyous day with so much of our family and some of our friends also. Thank you for loving Emerson and praying for her now and in the years to come.
