The Madison County Fair

The kids all stayed with their grandparents from July 11-15. One of the things my mom really wanted to do with them is to take them to the fair. I always enjoyed the fair as a kid and wanted to tag along at least one night. We got tickets to the rodeo on Friday night. We walked around the fair a little before the rodeo. Caleb got to hold a little alligator, the other kids could of held it too but he was the only one brave enough to do it.
This was Abby's first ever rodeo. The boys went 2 years ago so they knew what to expect but she didn't. She was super excited for it though. Her favorite ended up being the rodeo princess and the barrel racing. She liked all the blinged out outfits that the cowgirls had on.

Bryce always likes watching the rodeo. His favorite was the calf roping although he was a little worried that the cowboys might be hurting the calves.

The rodeo was a great time and although it was HOT the sun went down early and a cool breeze blew through. The rodeo went really late and after the little disaster of me loosing our car in a giant cornfield we made it back to grandma's by midnight.

The next morning we headed back to the fair bright and early to see Draven show Vinny in the open class dog show. Draven did a great job and so did Vinny. The kids had fun seeing the other dogs. We hung out there until 1 or so. The kids were a little disappointed because none of the rides were open or the stands but they had fun looking at animals and just running around.

The kids had a blast staying with my mom for a couple of days and then they went to Bob and Susie's for a couple of days too. When they were at my moms house Mitch and Courtney came down to eat lunch with them. The kids got to be some of the first to find out that they were going to have a new cousin in Feb. Congrats Mitch and Courtney we are so excited for you!
These couple days in Norfolk also gave us a much needed break!
