Emmy didn't pass her Kindergarten eye screening so we had to go see an ophthalmologist. I figured it would be same scenario as Abby where they did an exam and cleared her. Wrong! Emmy never appeared to have trouble seeing but she has severe astigmatism in both eyes. They tried to do the exam with her input but it wasn't really working out so they dilated her eyes to have a better look and get the information that they needed. Emmy was not a fan of the eye drops and was crying for most of the 15 minutes we had to wait for the drops to work. They told us that she needed glasses and she was furious! She said if I bought her glasses that she would stomp them. Great! So this is going to go well.
She calmed down a little when she saw that they had a really cute selection of kids glasses. I let her try a bunch on and we picked a pair out. They were dark pink and cat shaped. They looked really cute on her. So we now have a glasses wearing member in our family.
