We went to the mall on Tuesday night to get a few things. On the way out I wanted to stop in Claire's and see how much ear piercing was and the earring options that they had. Robb said "we are here we might as well just get it done". We have talked about when is the right time to get Abby's ears pierced and we have decided that anytime now is fine so we were going to leave it up to her to decided when she is ready. Bryce and Caleb have been asking her if she is ready to get shots in her ear and of course the answer lately has been NO. But once we were in there she couldn't resist the sparkly earrings and decided that she was ready. I was way more nervous than she was! Abby really wanted the Hello Kitty earrings but I really didn't like them, especially not since these have to be left in for 6-8 weeks. So we told her that they didn't have any Hello Kitty and instead chose a multicolored little flower that is really cute.
She got to hold the ear piercing bear and sat really still. The first one went in and she looked a little surprised but didn't say anything and didn't cry. The lady must have done this a lot because right after the first one was in she was piercing the second one so that she didn't decide that she didn't want the other one. Once they were both in and cleaned she got to look at them. Abby loved her sparkly earrings. So far so good on her letting me clean and twist them 3 times a day. I just hope they heal up ok and don't cause her too much pain. Our little girl just took another step into getting older.
She was so proud of her earrings!
