Last week Bryce and Caleb had their first ever field trip. They had been looking forward to this for months! They went to the Lincoln Children's Zoo which they have been to a million times but the thought of getting to go during the school day with their friends and getting to ride the bus made the wait for this day to come almost unbearable.
The boys were both very excited to ride the bus. They had watched a bus safety video and had talked about rules for the bus so they were all ready.
I got to go along as a parent helper and got to ride the bus with them. On the way there Caleb wanted to sit by me. He was really unsure of not wearing a seat belt. I have to admit it pretty much makes no sense that we stress the need to Always wear a seat belt but if you ride in a bus with about 50 other kids then you don't have to.
I had Bryce, Caleb and this cute little guy, William in my group. The boys had planned it that Shannon, Ethan's mom and I would team up though so they could all be in a group.
Trying to get a picture of all these crazy boys was next to impossible.
This was most of the boys from the class and their teacher Mrs Morrissey. She is so sweet and does such a great job with them but I think they give her a run for her money at times.
Caleb and Ethan playing in the web.
This giant dirt mound that is just left over from construction seems to be one of the zoo's most popular exhibits. At least for the boys.
I LOVE Bryce's face in this picture! He is holding a giant cockroach and is looking pretty proud of himself.
Caleb got to pet the flying squirrels and we even got to see them glide. We had never got the see them out of the cage so that was pretty exciting.
Me and the Boys
We had a wonderful day at the zoo. I was so glad that our crazy weather cooperated and they got a nice sunny day for their first field trip.
