Caleb had expressed some interest in doing trap shooting on the school team this year so we decided to give it a try. Grandpa Steve let him borrow a shotgun, we attended the meeting, bought the gear and we were ready to try it out. It is ironic to me that they have a shooting club at school when the topic of school shootings is always in the news. On Monday morning we have to take Caleb's gun to school is really odd to say! Since Robb and I know nothing about this sport there has been a learning curve just trying to figure out everything that he needs. They have a lot of dads that help and supervise the kids during practice. So far I think he is liking it.
Funny side note: I am usually the one that picks Caleb up after trap practice since he gets picked up at 4:30. I usually come in work scrubs and I rarely wear a coat. One of the days Caleb was still shooting so I stood outside to watch him. The main coach asked if I was okay, I was really confused by this. He then went on to say that I wasn't really dressed appropriately for the weather and he wondered if maybe I would like to wait inside. I guess that was nice that he was concerned but also very weird. I guess I stuck out in scrubs instead of the camo coveralls that all the other dads were wearing.
