Abby's first real babysitting job

Abby took her babysitting certification class a couple months ago and has been wanting to have a real babysitting job since. Robb had a co-worker that was moving over the weekend, and they need someone to watch their little boy, Locklen. Abby excitedly agreed and it was perfect because since they were moving, she would watch him at our house so we could be a resource if she needed anything. Abby has always had unending patience for kids and loves little kids. She did a great job. He was only 11 months old so there was a little learning curve such as mixing formula and heating breastmilk and the fact that more baby food got on him and her than in his mouth. He was about the easiest baby I have ever been around and was instantly attached to Abby. He didn't like the pack n play so Abby held him in the recliner for nap. She would get a little nervous when he would fuss so we had to have the discussion of babies sometimes just cry. If they don't need fed, changed and aren't sick or hurt they might just be crabby or frustrated and that's ok too. We were really impressed at Abby's babysitting skills and the fact that she really wanted to do it all. She used us as a resource but wanted to be independent. She had a good but long day of watching an 11-month-old in a house that is not baby proof for 8 hours. She even got hired to watch him again the next weekend.
