Bryce and Caleb have been old enough to receive communion at our church for the last couple years but they ask that they do a 3 hour class and then the next week they can take communion. They really let parents decide when their child is ready and I think they were probably ready last year but we were gone during the class so this is the year that they got to have their First Communion. I took the class with them and it was really well done. I learned a few things and I think the boys learned a lot. They also got to see how the bread was made and blessed which was neat. They were excited to take communion and they liked that Grandma and Grandpa Lutz came to help them celebrate. I worked later that night so I had to go home and go to sleep so right after church we opened up the Mexican restaurant so that we could celebrate after church.
