The Best Week of the Summer

Everyone in our family looks forward to the Yankton vacation every year! It is pretty neat how the kids just pick up where they left off even though some of the kids only see each other a couple times a year. Boating is always one of the favorite activities! Pretty soon Robb and John are going to have to invest in a pontoon boat to hold everyone. Usually someone rents a pontoon boat for at least one day so that all of the kids can be on the boat together.Turns our that with everyone on the boat we were too heavy to let people go tubing. That's ok we had fun jumping off and swimming.
This year we had a first. Grammy Hansen got to come for a couple of days. The kids had so many things that they wanted her to do! They really wanted her to go on the boat. She was a little unsure but she was a good sport and even judged the jumping off the boat contest.
These kids are so fun. They have endless energy and are always ready to go out on the boat or to the pool. Oh to have that much energy again.

The boys.

Brook and captain Grandpa

After watching these 2 give each other a hard time and chase and tease each other all weekend I feel like eventually we might have to watch these 2 close!

I love this picture of Grammy! So glad that she takes the time to hang out with all the great grandkids!

Emmy has always fallen asleep on the boat. I guess all the waves and spraying water is relaxing.
The one really sad thing about the Yankton trip this year was that Robb had hurt his back at the end of June and had been struggling with a lot of pain since then. He finally went to the doctor after weeks of me convincing him too and they diagnosed him with a bulging disc. He got a cortisone shot and some anti inflammatory medications but he was still miserable most of the time. The worst thing was that the doctor told him absolutely no wakeboarding. Poor Robb! That is what he looks forward to all year long.
