Christmas baking and Grinch Christmas

This year we did some extensive Christmas baking. This is our first Christmas with Abby having a Celiac diagnosis so any Christmas treats she wants we have to make. We did pretty well and made cut out cookies, oreo balls, peanut butter cookies, fudge and sour cream cookies. The kids were great and everyone was on board to help out.
Bryce and Abby really enjoy cooking and baking so they mixed up protein balls and the peanut butter cookies.

Emmy was on Hershey kiss duty for the peanut butter cookies.

Don't worry this was after Caleb had made all the oreo balls. I told him he could lick his hands and then we all had a good laugh because he looked like a toddler that was eating a smash cake. This didn't phase him and he happily ate all the oreo off his hands.

The cut out cookie recipe that we made was a huge batch! We spent hours rolling out cookies. Our first try at gluten free cut out cookies was so so. Oh well, we will keep trying. The girls got really good at rolling out the dough and cutting out shapes.

Not only did we Christmas bake we also celebrated Grinch Christmas tonight. Over the years I have explained Grinch Christmas many times because its not a very "normal" thing to celebrate. I love that it is family centered, no gifts involved and it can be as hard or as easy as you want it to be. In short it is a planned family night during one of the most hectic months of the year. The kids look forward to this each and every year and so do Robb and I. This year Robb made a stuffed pork loin and a cheese sauce that he dyed green. It was delicious! We had Who hash, green veggies and of course the traditional pudding cups. This year we all had ugly Christmas sweaters that we wore. We decided that after years and years of watching the Grinch that we would pick a different Christmas movie to watch. We choose Elf and it was a hit. Another successful Grinch Christmas in the books.
