This month we hosted Abby's 4-H group. I was really excited to do this month because I thought it would be really fun to make Christmas ornaments and then give them out at a nursing home. We spent weeks figuring out what ornaments we wanted to make and gathering all of our craft supplies. We also made a sample of all of the ornaments the week before so we could work out any kinks that we might run in to. Abby and Emmy had a blast finding different crafts on pinterst and helping me make them. We had 9 girls come to make ornaments. It was a hit! Everyone had fun and the ornaments turned out super cute. Robb wasn't thrilled with the fact that our house was covered in white feathers and red glitter but he will get over it.

All the girls made 5-6 ornaments and they were suppose to choose 3 to donate and they could keep the other ones. They were responsible for wrapping them up and then a couple weeks later we went to the Memory care unit to pass out our ornaments. It was a pretty small group because most of them had headed to their rooms for the night. I'm not sure we adequately prepared the girls for the crowd that they would be interacting with but they were great! The girls did amazing! The few ladies that were in the room didn't talk much and none of them knew where they were or what was going on but they were excited to see kids! The girls helped them unwrap the gifts and then they read them Christmas stories for 15-20 minutes. It was great for the girls to have to interact with a population that they generally don't interact with. All the girls were sweet, kind and caring which is what we want to instill in them. We couldn't have been prouder for how they handled themselves. This 4-H group is such a fun group of sweet girls!
