Lutz's gifted me a gift card for me and a friend to get our colors done at House of Color. Susie had gotten hers done a while ago and thought it was really fun! Tasha and I would agree that it was a blast. During this consultation they drape you in all these scarves in different colors and through this process they decide what color season you are based on your skin tone, eye color etc. We had guessed our color seasons before hand. I had guessed that I was a Fall and Tasha was a Winter. We were both really off. Tasha was a summer which includes lots of muted colors and pastels. After the color consult part, they helped you pick your "Wow" colors that looked the best on you.
I was a spring which includes lots of bright colors. If you know me at all you know that about 90% of my wardrobe is black. I don't tend to wear bights because I like to blend in and not stick out. It was interesting to get a professional perspective. She also showed us a 5 minute makeup tutorial and showed us the best colors for us. One of the most surprising things for both of us was that we should be wearing brown mascara instead of black. This was a really fun experience and Tasha and I both have a lot of work to do to get our wardrobes to encompass more of the colors that we should be wearing.
**A little side not to this. When I was telling Robb about this and how fun and exciting it was, he was really perplexed. His response was, "Do you really think after 39 years, that you don't know what colors look good on you"? He is pretty sure this is some scam to get us to buy a whole new wardrobe. MEN!
