The Newest Member of the Family

Emmy is the only child that has never had a pet. Bryce claims Lucy as his, Caleb has had a couple hamsters over the years and Abby has a fish (that she doesn't take care of). Emmy has been begging for a pet. She really wanted a cat but Caleb is allergic. She has been picking up all the pet care flyers every time we go to PetSmart. We ruled out hedgehog (too stinky, we babysat one), ferrets were too rat like and stinky, we thought about a guinea pig but still a little too rodent like for me. So we settled on a bunny. The stipulation was that we had to promise Robb that it was an outside bunny and it wouldn't be a house pet. We finally decided that we could make that promise, next Emmy had to pull herself together a little bit and not be so high maintenance to get ready for daycare in the morning. Emmy finally met her goal, so off to Tractor Supply we went to buy a bunny hutch.
We now had the home we just had to get a bunny. This proved to be harder than one would think. PetSmart and Petco don't sell bunnies anymore. Tractor supply, and Orscheln's didn't have any bunnies right now. I took to social media to try to find someone that sold bunnies. One of Abby's friends, Morgan, had a rabbit and her mom put us in touch with a bunny breeder. I contacted her and she had a litter that was old enough to go to homes. She sent us pictures of a couple females and one male. She strongly suggested that we get the male because males were hardier pets for small children and he was tame and nice. We visited them and the little boy was the only one that would let us hold him. We decided to get the little boy bunny who was an 8 week old Holland Lop bunny that she had named Biff. We renamed him Nibbles which when Emmy says it sounds a lot like Nipples but what do you do.

Nibbles is a well loved little bunny. After some thought we decided that the bunny hutch would stay in the garage so the coyotes didn't get our cute little bunny. The girls play with him outside in the play yard. Emmy carries him and around and takes him down the slide and rides her bike with him.

Emmy now has her pet!
