We Made It

After collecting our luggage, we headed outside to wait for our Uber. With six of us, we always opted for an SUV, which was always black and made us feel like we were part of a secret service convoy. Unfortunately, it took longer than we expected to get out of the airport and reach our hotel. Checking in was also a slow process; at one point, I thought Susie might just reach across the desk and give the snotty clerk a piece of her mind!

Once we finally checked in, we went to see our rooms, and they were absolutely beautiful and impressive. We changed quickly and set out to walk to our dinner reservation at Joe's Seafood and Crab. We were in a hurry to make our reservation, but we had no idea where we were going. At one point, we ended up in the underground walkways beneath the main streets, which was a little unsettling. We were definitely not in Nebraska anymore!

The restaurant had a fantastic old-school Chicago vibe, and the food was simply amazing. At that point, we were so hungry that we probably would have been impressed by chicken nuggets from McDonald's!
