Show Choir Senior Night

Bryce has been part of Show Choir all four years of high school. He originally joined due to a lot of pressure from Thomas and Wes, but he ended up really liking it. For two years, he was in 68th Street, the JV show choir. During his junior year, he briefly thought about transferring to Freeman and didn’t try out, but once he let go of that idea, Wes welcomed him back. He stayed in 68th Street and had a great year, especially with Bree, who was in the same choir.

This year, Bryce made it into the Gold Varsity Show Choir. He has made incredible progress, and it’s clear he’s comfortable and having fun on stage. He no longer needs to rely on watching others to remember the dance moves, and their performances are fun and impressive to watch. I’ve truly enjoyed seeing their shows each year.

Tonight was senior night, which meant it was our last chance to see him perform. They’ll be doing a show in Branson in April, but we aren’t able to travel down there. Grammy had never seen one of Bryce’s performances, so we decided to make it happen tonight. Robb left early to pick her up, and they made it back just in time to say hello to everyone and for Grammy to check out my plants. Then, we headed to the show. Grammy was beyond impressed, and it was so fun seeing her enjoy the performance.

All the seniors were recognized for their amazing year, and it’s clear they’ll all be sad to say goodbye to Wes, the man behind the shows. He’s the one who makes the music fun, and with three show choirs, each with 50+ kids, it’s easy to see why the kids adore him. As Bryce says, “You just can’t say no to Wes.”
