The girls' varsity team made it to State this year, and it’s been exciting to watch Bree play. It’s been a season of adjustments for her, with the addition of a new player impacting her playing time. As the only senior on the team, she also faced some challenges, but she handled it with determination and grace.
They faced Skutt in the first round, so we knew it was going to be a tough game. The team started strong and was ahead at halftime, but they struggled in the second half, only scoring 6 points. My heart went out to Bree because I could tell this wasn’t how she saw her senior year ending.
After the game, Bryce went to check on Bree. She was holding up, but it was still a tough moment. The other girls have another year to try again, but for Bree, this marks the end of the road when it comes to basketball.
Emmy and her friends were there to cheer on the team but I think they spend half of the time at the concession stand.
