I got to attend school fieldtrips 2 days in a row. I must say that manning a group of girls was a quieter experience than a group of boys but I had fun both days. Abby's class has been doing a lot to science related activities that had to do with life cycles and bugs. Right up her alley! We went to Arbor Lodge in Nebraska City. This isn't very far from us but it is a place that I had never visited before. They had run playing games that had to do with bugs and life cycles and then they got to go digging for bugs. This was the best part!
Abby with some of her school friends. The 2 girls on the side of her are Mya and Sophia both friends from her class. The other little girl was a friendly little girl from the other class.
Hanging out on the big spider web.
After the nature hike part of it we went to the William Jennings Bryan house. I probably should know more about him but I gathered that he was a homesteader that donated all his land to make this area and to start Arbor Farms and then founded the holiday Arbor Day. So obviously tress were important to him. The area was beautiful and the mansion was neat to walk through. The educational video after lunch was something we could have skipped but all in all a great day.
