Abby's Girl Scout Troop went caroling on Dec 20 at the Legacy retirement home. I was a little nervous how this was going to go because all the girls get a little nervous in front of a group and I can't sing! It was great though. The girls started out by talking to the residents that gathered to watch them. They introduced themselves, told them about what they had been doing in Girl Scouts and colored Christmas pictures with them. I didn't expect the girls to enjoy this as much as they did. Abby quickly got attached to Mary who was from Britain and had also served in the Army. I wish I would have gotten more time to chat with her too. I think she was probably a pretty interesting lady.
We had a pretty good turn out with 7 coming from our troop of 10 and 3 coming from another Girl Scout troop. I also had recruited Ainsley because I knew she would sing. I had invited Susie to come also. I needed someone to start us off singing and I needed someone to carry us if the girls choose not to sing.
The girls did great with the 5 songs that we sang and they really shined during Jingle Bells.
We came back to our house and had cupcakes and hot chocolate and as always it turned into the girls dressing up in Abby's costumes and putting on a fashion show.
